Meet Emmie — Dr. Paul's shadow. Born February 15, 2024, she's our white English female, right around 90 pounds. Wherever Dr. Paul goes, she goes. Same room, same hallway, same spot at his feet. She is not happy unless she's close.

One hundred percent gotta-have-attention.

Emmie does not share the spotlight. If another dog is getting petted, she muscles right in, looks up with those sweet eyes, and stares — patient and unblinking — until the hand finds her too. She always wins. Loving doesn't begin to cover it. She's a velcro dog through and through.

The puppy we didn't plan on.

Here's the cute part. We drove to the Huntsville, Alabama area to buy one white English Lab — Luna. That was the whole plan. After we picked Luna, we asked the breeder about his last remaining puppy from a previous litter. He brought her out and set her down. She didn't walk — she sauntered. That was it. We knew right then we had to have her. We drove to Alabama for one puppy. We came home with two.
