Labrador Puppies in Lakeland, FL

Lake country, a walkable historic downtown, and wide-open land. Lakeland gives a Labrador room to be exactly the dog it is. The only question is which of our two lines fits your life. Here is how to decide, and how to bring one home.

Match the dog to your life

Which Lab Fits Your Lakeland Life?

Most breeders sell you whatever is in the box. Borosky Labradors runs two lines, English and American, so you get to pick the dog that fits how you actually live. Lakeland is the perfect place to make that choice, because the town has room for both.

The American line

Built for the wide-open land

Leaner and higher energy. The American line wants room to run, and Lakeland has it. Colt Creek State Park alone is 5,000 acres with 15 miles of trail, and Polk County is full of open land. Give this dog a job and a few miles a day and it thrives. Plan for it: here is how much exercise a Lab really needs.

The English line

Made for the historic district

Calmer and stockier, with that classic blocky head. The English line is happy at a slower pace, which suits a downtown stroll around Lake Mirror or a quiet morning on a patio. Our English white Labradors are the most-requested of all, and they turn heads everywhere they go.

One honest thing. This is a tendency, not a law. An English Lab can live on twenty acres and an American Lab will happily nap on a downtown patio. Treat the split as a guide, then pick the dog you love. And whichever you choose, both lines agree on one thing: water. Lakeland is built on lakes, from the 2.93-mile loop around Lake Hollingsworth to the swans on Lake Morton, and your Lab will want all of it.

The Dogs Behind Your Puppy

Both lines live with us in Sanford. On the English side, meet Louie, Emmie, and Luna. On the American side, Dunkin, Sadie, and Remi. See the whole crew on the Our Dogs page, then tell us which one you want your puppy to come from.

A buyer who knew exactly what she wanted

Twenty Acres, Six Labs, and One White English Girl

Here is the best proof that the land-versus-downtown split is only a guide. A woman with twenty acres and six Labradors already at home called about our last litter. By every rule of thumb, a place like that screams American line. She wanted the white English female.

She called, asked her questions, and knew within the conversation that this was her dog. She drove out and picked the puppy up the same day. Six Labs deep, on more land than most people will ever own, and she still chose the English line because that is the dog she loved. That is the whole point. You do not buy a category. You buy the puppy that is right for you, and we help you get there.

Getting your puppy home

The Drive, and the Easier Option

Straight talk on distance. Lakeland is about 75 miles and roughly an hour and a half down I-4 from our Sanford home, depending on how Orlando is behaving. Plenty of Lakeland families make the drive and turn it into a day. If you would rather not, we deliver to the Lakeland area at about $2.50 a mile, depending on fuel. Want to see where your puppy is raised first? Start with our Sanford home base.

Why buy from us

A Family That Helps You Choose

Your Lakeland puppy does not come from a faceless operation that sells one type of dog. It comes from a Sanford family that raises two lines and will be straight with you about which one fits your land, your downtown, and your day. Both parents live in our home. The door is open if you want to visit. That is the difference between buying a puppy and being handed one. See why Florida is a great state to own a Lab.

Before you ask

Lakeland Questions

Which Borosky line fits Lakeland, English or American?

Honestly, either one. The American line tends to be leaner and higher energy, which suits Lakeland's wide open land and places like Colt Creek State Park. The English line tends to be calmer and stockier, which suits a slow stroll around Lake Mirror downtown. That is a tendency, not a rule. Plenty of land owners pick the English line. Tell us how you live and we will help you match the dog.

Can my Lab swim in the Lakeland lakes?

Labs love water and Lakeland is full of lakes, but use sense. Central Florida lakes can have alligators, so keep your dog leashed near the water rather than letting them swim in the lakes. The paved loop around Lake Hollingsworth and the path around Lake Mirror are great walks with safe water views.

Is Lakeland too far to buy a puppy from you?

Not at all. It is about 75 miles and roughly an hour and a half down I-4 from our Sanford home, depending on Orlando traffic. Plenty of Lakeland families make the drive, or we deliver to you for about $2.50 a mile.

Where can I take my Lab in downtown Lakeland?

Downtown is walkable and dog friendly. Swan Brewing on West Pine Street welcomes dogs in its outdoor area with rotating food trucks, and Black & Brew Coffee House has patio seating where staff hand out water bowls. The Lake Mirror promenade ties the whole area together.

How much is a Borosky Labrador puppy?

Our puppies run $1,500 to $3,000, depending on color, line, and demand, with white English pups at the higher end. A $500 deposit holds your pick and moves to a future litter if your timing changes. Delivery to the Lakeland area is extra.
